Dear Staff, Families, and Patrons,

Thursday afternoon, Governor Bullock put in place a stay-at-home directive to help combat the spread of Covid-19. As part of the mandate, schools will remain an essential component, continuing to provide distant learning, meals, and supports for students.

Jefferson High School will continue to follow CDC guidelines in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. Weekly packets will continued to be distributed and daily lunches will be delivered. Staff at the school is limited but enough resources will be available to meet these needs.

The district action plan was approved and submitted to the governor’s office. It includes the components in place to provide continued distant learning and resources for all students. The recent events of the past couple of weeks have been a strain on the entire educational community, but collectively we can navigate these new challenges together. Collectively, we need to have open communication, share our concerns, take care of each other and most of all, and stay safe.

As a group, we will continue to learn and thrive in ways that were unimaginable a couple of weeks ago. I am humbled to be a part of Jefferson High School District #1, and to be surrounded by a caring staff, parents, community, and the heart of our profession, the students. All the members of our educational community are here to support the students with personalized learning platforms in place.

In closing, I want to thank all the JHS staff for their diligence and helping hands the past couple of weeks. It is going to take the entire educational community to problem solve and accomplish the plans put in place, even though the playing field has changed.

Respectfully,

Tim Norbeck, Superintendent
