My name is Mary Anne McMahon. I was born and raised in Helena, Montana in a family of fifteen children! My decision to teach was instilled from a very young age by my parents who always role modeled "Make a positive difference in the lives of others!" Our home always had one more bed and place at the dining room table for anyone who wanted to join our "organized" chaos! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Spanish Secondary Education from Carroll College. I earned my Master's Degree from Montana State University but am still torn between Bobcat and Griz loyalty as I spent my first two years of college at the University of Montana. I've taught at both the high school and college level for 26 years. My first twenty-one years of teaching were at Bozeman High and the next two at Helena High. I can honestly say that the decision to spend my final years of teaching at Jefferson High where I student taught way back in the Fall of 1986, was one of the best decisions I've ever made! At JHS educators prepare students to pursue any career path they are interested in! Panther loyalty runs deep!
In my personal life, I have four adult children who now have wonderful families of their own. Yes, being a Nana to eight little ones lets me be a child again! Family time is definitely my favorite time! I also enjoy hiking, working in my yard, hunting, fishing, and attending sporting events!
